When the laser welding machine welds the wire, when the filler wire is used for welding, the laser beam first acts on the welding wire, and the welding wire is heated and melted by the laser beam to fill the joints. With continued action, the base metal melts and small holes are formed. The metal around the hole can absorb almost all the incoming laser energy. When the workpiece moves, the small hole moves, and the original hole is closed to form a weld. If the welding wire fails to reach the intersection between the optical axis and the center of the weld, most of the energy of the laser beam will be transported through the middle due to the large gap between the seams, and only a small part of the energy will be absorbed by the sidewall of the weld. Small holes cannot be formed during the process, and the weldment cannot be welded.

When the laser welding machine fills the wire for welding, the reflectivity also changes with the focal length of the tight-focus lens. When the wire feeding speed is constant, as the focal length increases, the reflection increases accordingly. This is because as the focal length increases, the diameter of the focused laser beam increases, and the energy density of the laser decreases, so the temperature of the welding wire decreases, and the absorption rate of the laser light by the welding wire decreases.

Therefore, in order to make full use of the laser energy in the welding process, the laser power should be increased as much as possible, the short focal length lens should be used, and the wire feeding speed should be reduced as much as possible under the conditions of forming, so that the laser welding wire can be well used for filling welding. best results.
