Users who know the fiber laser cutting machine should know that it must use helper gas in the cutting process.

Before talking about how to choose a helper gas, I should be explain why the helper gas is used and the result of the helper gas. The use of helper gas can not only blow away the molten slag in the coaxial slit, but also cool the appearance of the processed object, eliminate the heat-affected zone, cool the concentrated lens, and prevent smoke and dust from entering the lens holder to pollute the lens and cause the lens to overheat; others, some Cutting the gas can also play a role in maintaining the base material. The selection of gas pressure and variety has a greater impact on the cutting process, and the selection of the variety of helper gas will have a positive impact on the cutting performance, including cutting speed, cutting thickness, etc.

The helper gases that can be used by the laser cutting machine are atmospheric, nitrogen, oxygen and argon. Now let's focus on the different helper gases. The laser will introduce us to its use and characteristics.

1. atmospheric

The atmospheric can be provided directly by the atmosphere compressor, so it is very self-made compared with other gases. Although the atmosphere contains about 20% oxygen, the cutting power is far less than oxygen, and the cutting power is similar to nitrogen. A small amount of oxide film will appear on the cut surface, but it can be used as a step to prevent the coating layer from falling off. The blocking end is yellowed.

The materials that are often used are aluminum, aluminum alloy, stainless copper, brass, electroplated steel plate, non-metal, etc. However, when the quality requirements of the cut products are high, aluminum, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, etc. should not be used as the atmosphere, because The atmosphere will oxidize the base material.

2. Nitrogen

Some metals use oxygen during the cutting time to form an oxide film on the cut surface, and nitrogen can be used to suppress the oxidation-free cutting of the oxide film. Therefore, there are features such as direct welding and painting, and strong corrosion resistance. The blocking end face is whitish.

The materials that are often used are stainless steel, electroplated steel plate, brass, aluminum, aluminum alloy and so on.

3. Oxygen

Tension is used for laser cutting carbon steel. With the use of oxygen response to acoustic heat to increase the cutting power in a large format, the oxide film produced will increase the beam spectrum extraction factor of the reflected material. The blocking end is black or dark yellow.

The materials that are often used are rolled steel for welding layout, carbon steel for rigid layout, high tension version, east-west board, stainless steel, electroplated steel plate, copper, copper alloy, etc.

4. Argon

Argon is an inert gas, used in laser cutting machine cutting to restrain oxidation and nitriding, and also used in welding. Compared with other processing gases, it is expensive and increases capital accordingly. The blocking end face is whitish.

The materials that are often used are are titanium, titanium alloys and so on.
